What A Joke, I would take every 20+ year old used vehicle I ever owned in Trade for My Brand New Hunk of Junk Rav4 and the RIPoff lying Toyota Mechanics that amazing 500 miles out of warranty a loose gas cap is now a $850 repair, & supposed replaced transmission has had check engine light on since 3 mth after repair also Power Steering fluid Leak, & taken to Toyota with Check Engine Light that just magically disappears & Nothing Wrongstill in Extended Warranty on Transmiisson Repair. I've had defective recalled tires I had to pay full price after lies, My dog broke windsheild when accellerator stuck and had to slam brakes to stop from crashing into car in front of me. Now disabled and stuck with failing piece of junk that Toyota just clears codes and sends me on my way & can't afford repairs elsewhere then fight for reimbursement. I am sick and tired of every single new product I have purchased in the last 10 years being A worthless Dangerous Piece of Junk that breaks 2 weeks out of warranty and Ruined Credit trying to just have Basic Can't Live Without, Working Products: Car, stove, refridgerator, ./ Heat/Air, every single product I've bought new in past 7 years has recalls, defects, Dangerous & lawsuits, & I am on fixed income with no way to replace Items expected to last 20 years plus buying Brand New..

And on top of Being Ripped OFF with Defectivo Products, Being taken advantage of by the Toyota Dealer on warranty repairs when NEW CAR purchase & continued DEALER Repair & Maintenance Work at inflated price assuming some customer loyalty and support would be there when needed but Bad Enough Feeling like A Victim in Buying a Lemon but continue being Victimized while driving unsafe unreliable car told in perfect mechanical condition for 10,000 miles waiting for warranty to expire & letting car suffer more damages.

And Now going to my Toyota Dealer w/ Check Engine Light rushed in to reset while ignoring Problems that will Result in Steering Failure is my reward for Customer Loyalty From Toyota. MY ADVICE NEVER BUY NEW & when check engine light is constantly loose gas cap AT DEALER, GET A SECOND OPINION.

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

We originally bought our Toyota because of past reliability and future resale value.

Our 2007 Camry Hybrid (paid about 10000 over similarly equipped non hybrid) not only has always gotten poor fuel mileage but had the moldings on both A - pillars pop loose.

Then the car started acting like it was surging and slowing constantly. We took it to Toyota ( within warranty) and they "couldn't" find anything wrong.

The problem persisted so we took it back shortly after and were told that the antilock/stability control module was bad but the car was out of warranty. Cost? 2000+ We couldn't afford the repair and kept driving hoping for a recall.

Finally about 14 months later? The dash went nuts and the breaks kept locking up. Also, the car would jolt forward and occasionally the steering wheel would forcefully turn on its own.

We were forced to pay upwards of 2300 for the repair. Price went up because they had to upgrade to a different part (hmmm).

We are still stuck with this heap because no one will buy it. Sucks fuel, sucks cash for repairs, it's hybrid so only Toyota will touch it, and nobody will buy it.

Never another Toyota again!!!!!

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

My husband I are retired on a fixed income and budget. We downsized to one vehicle five years ago and chose toyota due to their reputation as the safest most reliable and with the gas prices rising most economical vehicle we could go with. Reputation Reliability The first one we owned stopped dead in the middle of a busy intersection leaving us stranded. Their explanation the brain just died very rare. We bought another one. Now this. We no longer believe in Toyota. But wonder if any products made and sold are safe true to their word and if any company is accountable. I doubt it. If so then for all of us with shoddy products including automobiles we have paid thousands of dollars for we should be able to take it right back to these cheats and tell them to MAKE IT RIGHT. MAKE IT RIGHT does not mean I have to continually spend my time at the side of the road or in an accident or sitting at your dealership listening to your lies. Or worse yet DEAD What good are the lemon laws if they dontaddress the lemons of this world

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

I agree with the comment from Hesh. What is even worse about the Toyota recall is that Toyota reportedly knew about these problems years ago Just another example of how far greedy car companies will go. I hope everyone who owns a Toyota receives the necessary repairs to stay out of harms way.

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

I think that here a class action lawsuit would be extraordinary important to force TOYOTA tell the truth regarding their past actions and the scam they are intending now with the shimsIndidual accident claims may be important for the damagees but the real damage is thenervosity and consequences of the persons which are afraid. If someone is bitten by a wolf it is little consolation in the fact that the chancesthat such happens are 1 in 1000000 The consequence of the fear: bring the car to a repair shop and ask for an assessment of the pedal 100.00 be afraid to drive it and rent a car: not to drive the car to the job snd spprnt 2 hour in the morning snd another in the evening tsking the busdemt the chidren to school in a texi to incut in a accident because of the nervesetc. etcYou know better than I which are the wrongs of Toyota but let me comment:1 It is in my opinion that the fkoormat recall is a complete scam. I would say 75 of all owners including 3 I know personally checked these and they were exatly in the right position and only if it became totally loose and crumbled it could block the pedal. This being so with any carToyota dcided to make such recall as they were forced by the problems to do something. So they buy the mats for 1.00 in China noinstallation costs some cents for transport and the fact that not many will claim the new matAfterthat they possibly would make a cheap offer to change the pedals at the more risky models Of course they knew for 3 years that the pedal itself is defective2 Nor the propos to install a shimas anyone does if he has a spring not working hard enough. This would work fo a while but will brake down sooner or laterThis is very similar as sealing a water hosewith duct tape.RegardsTOM2Of course Tpyoya knows

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

I was in an accident filed a police report my car was totalled loss... i had no idea wat happenedthe car just kept going out of control... i now come to find out it was the result of a defective vechile. I have contacted my dealer and was told that the recall didnt affect the Rav4 I have. I do not believe this as I have read in the papers and saw on the new that all 2009 and 2010 Rav4 are involved in the recall. I do not want to be a Toyota statistic before any action is taken to assist people like myself.

Re: Toyota Recall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

THE TOYOTA RECALL IS NOT GETTING TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. I DONT THINK THEY KNOW WHATS WRONG AND MANY ACCIDENTS OR DEATHS WILL ENSUE WHILE THEYRE FIGURING IT OUT. CON SUMERS SHOULD BE WARNED ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL DANGER AND CAUTIONED NOT TO DRIVE THEIR CARS UNTIL THE ISUUE IS SATISFACTORILY RESOLVED.
