I recently began looking for a condo or home to rent. I had heard of Chinese drywall but was not aware of the details. One of the properties I entered had an odd smell but not of rotten eggs. I thought that perhaps the rugs had just been cleaned using chemicals. I opened the utility closet and the metal couplings and connections were severely rusted. The property was built in 2006 yet the water heater and connections looked like they were pulled from a junk yard and installed. When I got home I searched for Reviews on the properties from people who lived or had lived there. That is when I discovered that one of the condos was built with the contaminated drywall. Rust and the smell are the giveaways. The horrific part is that the owners of the condo I looked at to rent are under no obligation to tell me about the drywall. Protect yourselves. Be aware. You can become seriously ill particularly if you already have lung problems. Research the building you are looking to rent or purchase if it was built from 2003 to 2007 in South Florida.

Re: Chinese Drywall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

any moreinfo on the parent company Knauf

Re: Chinese Drywall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

I agree completely. Wow. I had not heard of this but I am glad that it didn't happen to me. I would be so angry!

Re: Chinese Drywall - Class Action - Class Action Lawsuit

I read about this in the news. It's supposedly terrible. It's not event just the smell. Apparently the sulfur or something can cause corrosion, mess with electricity, and all sorts of horrible stuff. It's terrible that companies would buy cheap materials from China and hurt America consumers like this.
